CCIL and Carle Collaborators.
Carle’s Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute and the Carle Cancer Center are collaborating with the Cancer Center at Illinois to bridge the gap between scientific research and cancer patients. Kendrith Rowland, MD, and Rohit Bhargava, CCIL Director, began this collaboration between Carle and the University of Illinois with the C«STAR program, which partners graduate students with Carle physicians.
CCIL will provide the scientific research to support Carle’s grant with the NCI, and Carle’s clinical presence will support CCIL’s grant work. Now, CCIL members and their students have access to a lab space at the Mills Breast Cancer Institute at Carle to help facilitate their research, with the goal of improving the outcomes of cancer patients.
