Where are you working now?

Currently I’m working as a scientist at NGM Biopharmaceuticals located at California Bay area.

What are you currently researching?

I am currently still in cancer research! I’m working on pre-clinical immuno-oncology drugs and hope to get them in clinical trials soon!

How did your experience as a student in a CCIL training program help you achieve your career goals?

I think having firsthand experience of leading and developing biomedical research project with clinicians (as part of C*STAR program) really helped me looking at cancer research from a translational perspective, which also motivated me to pursue a career in drug development.

What do you miss most about the University of Illinois?

My lab and labmates, I definitely miss chatting with them on any random topics, science or otherwise!

What advice would you give to students in CCIL programs now, or those applying?

Take initiatives! If you’re interested in something, don’t be afraid to go for it.
