Barry Schatz is the Associate Director for Administration for the Cancer Center at Illinois. At the CCIL, he is responsible for the administrative operations of the research and education activities, including oversight of grant and fiscal support services. Barry served as Associate Director for Administration for Loyola University’s Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center since its inception in 1993. He has also been a senior hospital administrator at Loyola University Medical Center, a community hospital administrator, and a health care consultant.
Schatz holds an MS in Health Systems Administration from the University of Michigan and a BS in Hospital Administration/Psychology from the University of Illinois. In addition to his administrative qualifications, Barry is a cancer survivor since June 2000. This experience provides extensive insights into the patient’s perspectives of cancer treatment.
