CCIL Member and Professor, Hua Li.

CCIL member Hua Li, adjunct research associate professor in bioengineering and medical physicist in the Carle Cancer Center, received $2.3 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to fund her research in oropharyngeal (head and neck) and cervical cancers. Li’s primary goal is to explore imaging and genomic cancer biomarkers to develop a machine-learning-based clinical tool which will predict subsets of patients with poor prognoses and high risk of treatment failure. These projects to improve personalized treatment for cancer patients will be carried out in collaboration with researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
