Hyunjoon Kong, CCIL member and a Robert W. Schaefer Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, recently published a study in ACS Nano. Kong and collaborator Marni Boppart, Professor of Kinesiology and Community Health, tested the use of nanostimulators mixed with stem cells from fat tissue on mice with surgically induced ischemia in one of their hind legs. They observed increased blood flow and oxygen levels as well as improved mobility.
