CCIL Member Zeynep Madak-Erdogan, assistant professor of food and science and human nutrition, is the leader of the Women’s Health and Nutrition Lab, where she is currently focusing on hormone receptor positive breast cancer disparities in African American women living in south side Chicago. The University of Illinois at Chicago and Mercy Hospital are joining Madak-Erdogan on this project. She is also collaborating with the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences in Birmingham, England, through the BRIDGE program, on this study and also to generate and analyze datasets emphasizing health disparities in pregnant women, with a focus on gestational diabetes.
