Cancer Voices

A community-engaged approach to transform cancer disparities through verbatim theater

About Cancer Voices

Cancer Voices brings together true stories from survivors, doctors, family members, nurses, researchers, and others affected by cancer. This project creates an original script offering a wide view into how different people move through cancer research and treatment systems. The performance inspires thought-provoking discussions concerning who gets access to the latest technologies that fight cancer, how discoveries are communicated, disparities in treatment and outcomes and the importance of advocacy. By strengthening conversations between stakeholders, these performances and community discussions work toward raised awareness and effective and just healthcare.
