CCIL Program Leader and cancer survivor Brendan Harley recently shared his journey from patient to researcher with NPR, part of a series called “Life After Diagnosis.”

Harley’s work primarily revolves around the invasive brain tumor, glioblastoma. His lab utilizes tissue engineering methods to create models of tumor microenvironments and study how glioblastoma interacts with the brain. The end goal is to better understand how tumors grow and progress, and identify better ways to target them.
