Dr. An is an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on the role of neighborhood food environment in diet and obesity, and the effectiveness of financial incentives to promote healthy eating and chronic disease prevention (e.g. cancer screenings).
His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, American Journal of Health Behavior, Preventing Chronic Disease, Public Health Nutrition and Psychiatric Services. Dr. An’s research has also been featured by media outlets including The New York Times, LA Times, NPR, Washington Post, Boston Globe and in the California Senate Republican Caucus Briefing Report.
